Elizabeth Brown-Guillory, playwright, performing artist, formerly a professor at the University of Houston, is a distinguished professor of theatre at Texas Southern University (TSU) and serves as interim dean of the Thomas F. Freeman Honors College. She previously served TSU as associate provost/associate vice president for academic affairs. She has written approximately twelve plays that have been staged in venues such as Washington, D.C., New York City, Houston, New Orleans and Chicago. She is the author of Their Place on the Stage, a study of black women playwrights.
