The African American Repertory Theatre (AART) was founded by Irma P. Hall, Regina Washington and Vince McGill in 2007. Their first productions included Fuller’s A Soldier’s Play, Charlayne Woodard’s Neat, Pearl Cleage’s Flyin’ West, and Jeff Stetson’s The Meeting. AART has also managed to perform renowned pieces such as Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun, August Wilson’s Seven Guitars, and Pearl Cleage’s A Song for Coretta.
