In the early 1980s, Ms. Eloise Burrell, executive director for The Black Arts Alliance (1980s), offered Austin audiences notable black theatre productions. In 1986, Black Arts Alliance, in collaboration with the Zachary Scott Theatre, produced A Streetcar Named Desire featuring an all-black cast.
