graduate studies and associate professor
of theatre at Texas State University since
2001, has had a versatile and extensive
career in academia. In addition to working
as a college administrator and professor,
her credentials include directing and
producing, publishing articles on theatre
and diversity studies, as well as editing
several academic books including Myth,
Magic, and Farce: Four Multicultural Plays
by Sterling Houston
; High Yello Rose and Other Texas Plays; and Integrating
Multiculturalism into the Curriculum. With Dr. Elvin Holt, she is the editor
of Acting Up and Getting Down: Plays by African American Texans and
author of Stages of Struggle and Celebration: A Production History of Black
Theatre in Texas. At Texas State, she currently teaches graduate theatre
history, theory, literature and research, and undergraduate theatre theory
and analysis and ethnic theatre.
